Hypotermia

Audrey had been studying that the maintenance group had properly fixed the wind turbine to OSHA (rename) safety standards. There seemed to be a lower energy output than theoretically expected for 35 knots of wind.

She looked around to take a break to think this through, but has something nagging her that something was wrong. She knew that if she told her family and the diplomats then they would think she was paranoid and hallucinating from lack of sleep. People weren’t out to get her. Remembering that, Audrey came up with a plan.

She needed a lie that would get them out of the campground. It would be okay if they caught her in the lie with maybe another lie for wanting some time to work alone…as that’s what she was used to. She called Allyson Gust as she owed Audrey a favor for making amends with the librarians. Allyson Gust agreed and said she would need help from Regan to pull it off. (Regan was distracted by making the perfect pastry dish for her crush’s advisor. She came eventually, but Allyson had already became flustered and Regan had to come her down.)

Allyson Gust said that she was going to be offering a benefit concert partnered with the fox language app (change) for diplomacy. Audrey left her phone with the flyer on her phone.

“VIP?!? Let’s go!” said Karson. They all piled in the car and drove away. Audrey then told the campers that there was the Loch Ness monster and a 100 dollar prize for who could capture their essence the most. Audrey shrugged, the prize money was going to be her new microscope component she needed to look at the sample, but lives were more important. (Jay later gets her a microscope for the holidays.)

Audrey looked off on the water and saw a reflection on the water…it was different than the rest of the lake. There was a giant magnet in the lake!! She and a few people snorkeled to find the company name, Floo Data, those are the people that repaired the wind turbine! If they made this then the wind turbine wasn’t repaired and could break at any moment.

Warfield showed up on a jet ski with Floo Data branded on the side. “Oh so you saw my little side project? Do you like it? Now the diplomats will see what a dead end clean energy is. Good riddance, the Earth is fine and we’ll go to Kolas anyways (Mars) when everything is used up here.”

“I should’ve known your values could be bought Warfield,” Audrey said. “Well if I lose my funding for something that you didn’t realize damaging the wind turbine just a little bit to make us look bad could actually kill people? Thank you for identifying yourself as the villain in my story, things were a lot more confusing when I thought you were acting in my best interest. How’s it going to feel when you’re accountable for manslaughter?”

Just then the wind turbine’s third prong broke from being stuck in the wind tunnel for too long. It crashed on the ground and continued to roll with great speed down the mountain towards the water. The trees bought them some time and Warfield sped away on his waterski. “Good luck with that loser!” he shouted.

Audrey got on the walkie talkie once she reached the shore. “Jay, Emergency, I need you to sound the alarm and get everyone away from the water and on Pally’s Yacht, we can deal with her later. Over”

Jay agreed and said on the sound speaker, “All campers, there are soft pretzels and freeze pops on the big boat by the red slide. There are only 50 available so get there first.

Naturally, the campers all sprinted without screaming in terror. They all got on as Jay got out his telescope to see the wind turbine base break in segments sending the rest of the mass down the mountain faster than the one fan.

(The kids realized that the food wasn’t there and Jay said they were down the river and said he wanted to make sure they were hot and there for everyone.) (Write scene later.)

They got away and felt the large wave as the wind turbine fell in the lake. The kids were playing a game closing their eyes and only were able to open them while they were on the river. A kid opened them and said they saw the Loch Ness monster in the distance. (It was the broken wind turbine covered in dirt and mud. (Fix later.)

“Big turkey. It got hypotermia.” said the kid.
