Existence of Other Life

“Unfortunately, I do not live on an uninhabited island…so I need to be nice to people. I’m tired of being bombarded by notifying dings that other people exist and demand my life be even less comfortable. I want to be able to walk out into the town and think how many people I actually see on a daily basis. How many signs are there that the foot trails are trafficked? I mean once we go out 30 km it’s all rural hills and valleys. How many of us actually have ventured out of this ecosystem except for deliberate paths? The remainder of this expanse could be nothingness. The devices built into our phone do not necessarily need to cater to us. Maybe they are catering towards Karson. They seem to be able to live that island dream many of us secretly hope for. What do they know that we don’t? Are they producing misleading information that causes us to think we need to accommodate nonexistent life by excavating her mines?”
