Competing for Time

*Prior to this there was a bonfire cookout and prior to that there was a pickup baseball game that she was not invited to. Have him mess with the inventory list somehow as well.*

In a room with two pianos on either side with large tables next to them for what seems like a banquet the group funneled in. Audrey saw Warren and his friends show up and she didn’t immediately question it. Simply give a side eye.

They were there to play a role play game of D and D, but with some plans for the people of the world as his pawns.

He saw the piano and gave a quiet recital of some popular elitist song. Everyone on that side politely clapped and complimented him on his performance. They got settled into their game.

Warry became boisterous as his voice reverberated over their piano playing as he would play the piano by him waiting for his turn. “I thought he only knew guitar? What is this? His new ploy to find more women who don’t want him?” It was his turn, “China needs to place roads everywhere we need technology to be an IV drip to these people’s miserable lives. Gohaul Industries can supply that.”

“Scale time,” Audrey continued to play louder on the piano to the right side of the room. Warry glared at her a little and rolled his eyes. Jenny continued to practice with Audrey quietly so they could still play their role play game. “Jenny, it’s fine you can play louder. He’s had plenty of time to talk about China’s trade deals. Also, he wasn’t even supposed to be here this is our group. I don’t know why him and his goons were invited,” Audrey continued to play louder as Jenny became increasingly flustered until she grabbed Audrey’s wrist to stop her. This in practice would do nothing as Jenny is half Audrey’s size.

Jenny never is rash so Audrey met her with curiosity. “I know this may come as a shock to you as you always get your way, but Oliver and I are having wedding preparations this Friday as in tonight. The wedding is tomorrow morning and everyone including Oliver’s old college friends are invited. Yes, that means Warren and NOT YOU. They may be absolutely terrible people, yet I do not see them ruining an event for anyone else because they know how to conduct themselves in public.” The game the others were playing stopped to hear the conversation and the room went quiet. “I think it is best we all go now. The rehearsal dinner is soon.” The wedding party filtered out in two files and Warren turned around and made one of those rock and roll faces as he left at Audrey to let it sting even more.

I know he’s up to something, even if he’s not, he wouldn’t let this many people in the same room go to waste.

The next day Kaylia went up to Audrey at work on their off day…they never have days off for that job. “So I head you have been working on compiling the inventory for our database. Good for you. Maybe you’re finally doing something useful for everyone.”

Audrey shrinked into her shoulders as she remembered that Warren had taken that over in his game and edited the real progress she made. She explained the situation. Kaylia nodded and quipped, “Well, I guess you have your hands busy. I was going to ask if you wanted to go down to the park and get ice cream from the local dairy farm. You deal with that.” Audrey’s attention was captured and laughed, “Yes, my ex is a pain in my side and great at puppeteering people when he wants to…I need a break though. There’s no sense it letting him torment me more today with what he did to the inventory list. He would relish every moment of it, while I watched on the sidelines of the wedding happening with my whole friend group.” They set out to the park and Kaylia made some plans to crash the wedding.
