Write characters like Mai etc. where, “I was a rich only child who got everything I wanted.” So long as they stayed out of trouble. Then the character arc is they get to learn how to thrift and live a more modest lifestyle to find true happiness. They are often a foil to snobbier characters that did not get those needs fulfilled in childhood and it shows.
